Shoreditch Showroom
The premium American denim brand Prps
asked us to create a dedicated space within its Shoreditch showroom
to launch their S/S 2010 women’s collection – requiring
an installation that would lend a feminine edge to their design-conscious
yet functional, ‘product with purpose’ brand ethos.
Focusing on PRPS’ uniquely meticulous
attention to authentic, worn-in detail for our inspiration, we created
a large scale, hand-printed canvas featuring their cherub logo.
Embellished with vintage buttons from Spitalfields Market and treated
to give it an aged look, it became the centrepiece for the showroom – a tangible, highly visible piece synonymous with their core
brand values.
While a rich array of ropes and canvas strips, each customised with
torn ribbons, leather details and vintage laundry bag clips, were
used to display the denim collection.
The aesthetic combinations of weathered
and embellished, timeless yet simultaneously modern, converged to
create feminine overview underscored with an industrial accent - enhancing
the natural beauty of the new collection.
Having created the entire installation
on-site over a single weekend, the client was so satisfied with the
impact that they have since re-installed the same cherub canvas for
their concession in Selfridges. It can currently be seen on display,
demarking the Prps areas – a key signifier for the emerging
brand.
